Throughout Term 3, students will explore various natural environments and, in particular, the Australian animals who live there.

This term students will develop an understanding of the difference between facts and opinions, and how to recognise and use these in persuasive text.

The JP Mathematics course focuses on providing a hands-on approach to learning mathematical skills and concepts. To this end, this course involves games and other activities rather than an emphasis on worksheets.

These tasks do not need to be completed on any particular day, however, I would recommend looking over the material early in the week and revising a couple of times to reinforce learning. If work has been designated to Day 1, 2 or 3 please complete in order and on separate days to allow consolidation of learning.

Assessment

As the learning is being provided remotely please take photos of activity engagement or work product and email to: merryn.thorp@gcc.vic.edu.au

Email daily or by Friday afternoon to allow me time to file on a regular basis.

START HERE each week.

This is the primary place for communicating with all of Junior Primary.

Each Monday I will post a JP Newsletter outlining the particulars for the week. I will also include any Zoom links here.

Our unit of study of Term Two is Colour My World.

Throughout this unit we will be working towards standards in Science, Art, Literature and Maths through the use of YouTube clips,  activities, picture books and the occasional worksheet. These will be made available as they are required. Please notify me if you are unable to print from home.

Please resist the temptation to use resources that have been included in your take-home packs before the right time.

Assessment

For assessment purposes please take photos of activity engagement and email to merryn.thorp@gcc.vic.edu.au

Any bookwork or worksheet related tasks need to be stored carefully and returned to school (when we are allowed).

This course will provide the RR program to Foundation Students.

Video links of concept/skill teaching will be provided as well as written instruction for completing TSL/Pace work. Additional resources may also be included.

Assessment

Please store workbooks and any additional worksheets carefully so they are ready to return to school.

Photos are not necessary though I will happily receive them :)

Zoom

A regular Zoom session on Fridays will begin Week 2. This will provide me an opportunity to interact with the children as well as evaluate how they have gone with learning the new sound each week. I will also be available to answer any parent questions at this time. Of course I am always available to answer emails throughout the week and can phone call if you need.

Important information and scheduled Zoom meeting links will be posted here for the ABC program
