note is to include dates and reason for absence. If that a student is absent, the usual procedure is for contact to be made with

What happens when there is bushfire near the College?

We will look after your child and do everything in our power to keep you child safe. Safety measures may include moving all
students to the Gymnasium or their complete removal from the College site. We will advise you if you are required to pick up your child.

The major threat to the College are burning embers from the surrounding hills. Fortunately the fabric of the College is fairly resistant to fire but embers in gutters, etc, could cause a fire to take hold. The College makes every effort to maintain the gutters and the surrounds of the College free from combustible material.

Bushfire can be a threat to College activities such as Camps and Excursions. The College has a policy of not conducting camps
or excursions in the early months of the year.

The College also has in place other procedures in response to bush fires. They include responses to:
• Bushfire during College hours
• Bushfire before College hours
• Bushfire after College hours
• College closure
• College buses
• Any other activity to ensure the safety of staff, students and other members of the public.
